Permission to Arrive and Leave Independently

FOR STUDENTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

Girls’ Programming Network and Flinders University take the safety of your child seriously. Therefore, we ordinarily require parents/guardians to sign their child in on the morning of the event as well as sign them out at the end of the day so that the duty of care can be officially handed over. 

If you wish for your child to arrive and leave independently or with another parent/guardian please understand these conditions:

Independent Travel Consent

I, the parent/guardian, give permission for my child to arrive and leave the Girls’ Programming Network event independently, without direct supervision from myself or a designated adult.

I understand and acknowledge the following:

• My child will be responsible for their own travel to and from the event.

• Event organisers will not provide direct supervision during transit.

• I have discussed safety and appropriate behaviour with my child.

• I accept the risks associated with independent attendance and release the organisers from liability for incidents occurring outside the event venue.

Alternate Drop-Off/Pick-Up Consent

I, the parent/guardian, give permission for my child to arrive and leave the Girls’ Programming Network event with a designated adult.

I understand and acknowledge the following:

• The adult designated by you will be responsible for my child travelling to and from the event.

• I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure these individuals are aware of the event details and are authorised to transport or accompany my child.

• I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that my child is aware of these arrangements.
